We get it. Sometimes traditional schooling just isn’t working.

For many students they need a different, individualized approach to their education, one that is customized to meet their unique needs. Nectar Academy was created to meet these students exactly where they are. Students come to Nectar Academy for as short as a semester to as long as several years. The reasons that bring them are varied. Here are some of the reasons that brought Nectar Academy students to us:

How It Works:

Logistics:

We assess students, consult with families, and create a customized plan for each student. We design their school day, curriculum, and path based on their grade, goals, learning strengths and weaknesses, and other factors unique to the student and family.

Students attend classes with their certified, professional teachers one-to-one via video conferencing. Classes are 50 minutes each and students may enroll in Nectar Academy for as little as one class per semester to as many as seven classes per semester.

Options are available to attend Nectar Academy three or four days per week with one or two days for directed self-study depending on the plan selected. (Alternative schedule options are available.) We offer rolling admissions and year-round schooling options so you can start when your student needs to with no wait!

Students receive grades, a transcript, and credits that may be transferred into any public or private school when their time at Nectar Academy is complete.

Therapeutic interventions can be taken as part of the school day with credit for electives. We offer Study Skills and Executive Function Coaching, Cognitive Skills Training, and College Test Prep as a few examples.

Just about everything is customizable from electives chosen to homework or no homework, to curriculum selected.

Outcomes:

With one-to-one schooling, students are able to catch up, keep up, and get ahead. Imagine school where every class is designed and taught exactly to your child’s needs. The level of curriculum meets them right where they are so students actually learn.

The instruction begins at their learning level for each subject. Maybe a student needs 6th grade level math but 8th grade level language arts or they have an interest in marine biology but not chemistry, maybe they are advanced in one subject and can finish two years of curriculum in a single school year…whatever the need, we can meet it. With undivided attention from professional, expert educators, Nectar Academy reignites a love for learning, a belief in what is possible, and truly helps students achieve working at their full potential.

Start Right Where Your Child Is...

In order to determine the best services, curriculum, and teaching level to meet your child’s needs, The Nectar Group offers a select set of the most current and trusted assessments.

From academic assessments to determine grade placement and progress to cognitive assessments to evaluate the underlying skills responsible for learning or psychoeducational evaluations to diagnose learning difficulties, we have the tools and the expertise to evaluate student strengths and weaknesses and create custom plans to help them reach their full potential. See detailed information about each assessment type.

For Students Who Need Extra Help…

A key element of Nectar Academy is the ability to serve students who need extra help.

Many students benefit from interventions to treat the root causes of learning disabilities. These interventions may be incorporated as part of their school day and can even count for elective credit. By targeting each tier of The Potential Pyramid, we help your student reach their full potential! Students may receive cognitive training or executive functioning coaching for credit as part of school.
